All Creatures Great and Small

Thank you sweet friends for all the encouraging words.  I am happy to report that little Tucker was adopted by a lovely family after being back with his foster mother just one day.  This family lost their beloved dog six months ago and were finally ready to love another.  The foster mother told me that the teenage daughter cried when she held him and I have no doubt he will be loved and well cared for.  Though it was difficult for me, I know it was the right thing to do.

Today, I wanted to share with you a card I made for someone special.

I am very pleased with how it turned out.  Though there are deer that wander through my area, I miss seeing them on a daily basis as we did in North Carolina.  Still there is an abundance of bunnies, chipmunks, squirrels, birds, and the occasional fox to brighten our days.

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
